IC24 named approved IT supplier on new GP IT Futures framework
IC24 has been listed as an approved supplier of its urgent care electronic prescription service
Urgent Care provider Integrated Care 24 has been named as an approved IT supplier to primary care services as part of the NHS GP IT Futures framework. The new procurement process is designed to support the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan and framework for GP contract reform by supplying IT systems and services to the GP market in England. A total of 69 organisations have been named as successful suppliers to provide GP IT systems within the UK primary care settings, subject to successfully completing the assurance process.
IC24 provides urgent primary care services, including NHS 111 and clinical assessment services and has been listed as an approved provider of its urgent care CLEO Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) system.
IC24 introduced the module earlier this year to allow clinicians in its urgent care services to issue prescriptions electronically, making the service more efficient, safer, and removing the need to fax prescriptions to pharmacies.
The EPS module is built into Clinical Excellence Online (CLEO), which is IC24’s own clinical system. IC24 first designed CLEO in the early 1990s, and is the only urgent care provider to have developed its own clinical system.
David Brown, Director of Digital Technology and Performance, said: "We are really pleased to have been named as an IT supplier on the new framework. As an experienced provider of urgent care services, our innovative approach to interoperability and systems design combined with the standards set within the framework helps us to continue to improve quality, safety and efficiency across services. That is good news for everyone."
