I have been working for this company for 18 years and have seen many changes over this time.
I started here in 2007, part-time, as an administrator, working with the rota team to organise marginal cover. In those days, we were not paperless and there was a lot of printing and posting out to surgeries.
I have always been a people person, and when my line manager asked if I would like to man the main reception here at Kingston House, I was more than happy to do so.
As the first point of contact for the organisation, I aim to give a good impression and make potential colleagues and visitors feel at ease and welcome.
Now, eighteen years later, I am still on Reception and part of the Estates and Facilities Team. My job role is varied, and no two days are the same.
I work with the IT team to organise collections and send out IT equipment to home workers.
I also look after stationery supplies across the organisation, along with other requirements such as ordering sundries, booking hotels, and handling general admin and telephone queries.
The most rewarding part of my job is working with great people and having a feeling of belonging – being part of the IC24 family.
The three words that describe my job are: Respect for all, Supportive to my colleagues, and Caring for what we are all about.
