IC24 Launch New Paediatric Platform in East Kent
IC24, East Kent GP Confederation and East Kent Health and Care Partnership have been working together to co-create new models of care. Demonstrating the benefit of placed-based partnerships approaches to service delivery.
The pilot Paediatric service in East Kent is an example how social enterprises working with GP confederations and NHS organisations can drive innovation in the NHS.
In an exciting development, IC24, East Kent GP Confederation and East Kent Health and Care Partnership have commenced a pilot service focused on the urgent care needs of children across East Kent.
The aim of the service is to support children, parents, and carers by providing remote expert advice and increasing capacity for same day face to face appointments across local EK GP Practices.
The new pathway accessed via 111 will provide patients with timely access to specialist advice and reduce avoidable hospital admission. This locally delivered service prioritises the health and wellbeing of children across East Kent by providing seamless care close to home.
Early outcomes have shown over 50% of our paediatric patients can be supported by remote clinical advice and additional same day appointments have been made available for the children of East Kent.
