Shadow Transport Minister Jerome Mayhew MP Visits IC24 in Norwich
Broadland and Fakenham MP learns how IC24 is supporting patients in his constituency.
Jerome Mayhew, MP for Broadland and Fakenham, Shadow Transport Minister and Opposition Whip, visited our office in Norwich to see first-hand how the organisation is supporting patients in his constituency.
During the visit, Mr Mayhew met with Dan Hubbard, Director for Integrated Urgent Care, and Dr Tim Merchant, Medical Director for Integrated Urgent Care. Together, they discussed how IC24 works in partnership with the NHS to provide urgent care services and deliver innovative solutions to help people access the right care at the right time.
A key focus of the discussion was the Unscheduled Care Coordination Hub (UCCH), a service we provide with system partners which is designed to manage patients safely at home and avoid unnecessary ambulance callouts. Mr Mayhew was particularly interested in how services such as the UCCH could be scaled up to benefit more patients. We explored the challenges the model faces as it grows, and how innovations like these could play a wider role in strengthening urgent care across the NHS.
This is the second MP visit to IC24 in as many weeks, following the recent visit of Sojan Joseph, MP for Ashford. We hope these visits mark the start of many more opportunities to showcase our work to parliamentarians as we continue to build strong ambassadors in Westminster.
