Ashford MP Sojan Joseph Visits IC24
With firsthand NHS experience, Ashford’s new MP sees how IC24 is innovating to improve urgent and community care for patients.
On Monday, September 8, IC24 welcomed Ashford’s MP, Sojan Joseph, to Kingston House.
Sojan has been Ashford’s MP since the 2024 General Election, replacing the long-term Conservative member, Damian Green.
He met with our Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Catto, Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, Katherine Pitts, Divisional Director of Primary and Community Care, Jane Kendall, and Chief Information Officer, David Brown, to learn more about IC24 and hear about the challenges and innovations in Integrated Urgent and Primary and Community Care. He was especially keen to learn how we, as a social enterprise, can help to deliver the NHS 10-year plan.
Sojan has a strong interest in healthcare, having been a mental health nurse in the NHS for more than 20 years and, most recently, serving as Head of Nursing for community mental health services at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.
During the visit, he also met with Team Manager, Graham Deaves, to tour the call centre and listen in on an NHS 111 call, hearing first-hand how we are supporting patients in his constituency.
We hope this will be the first of many MP visits to IC24 as we aim to increase our ambassadors in Westminster.
