IC24 is proud to invest in its people, and we’re celebrating Mark’s First-Class Achievement in Data Science.

At IC24, we believe in empowering our employees to achieve their full potential. Today, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible accomplishment of Mark, one of our talented Business Intelligence (BI) Developers, who has graduated with a First-Class BSc in Data Science from Keele University through a Data Science Apprenticeship program. This achievement is not just a testament to Mark’s hard work and dedication but also a reflection of IC24’s commitment to investing in our people.
Through the Data Science Apprenticeship, Mark was able to pursue his passion for technology and data analysis while continuing to work with us. We ensured Mark had designated time within his working hours to focus on his university studies, making it possible for him to succeed without sacrificing his personal or professional life.
Reflecting on his journey, Mark shared:
"I wouldn’t have been able to do this without IC24. The financial support, the flexibility to study during work hours, and the opportunities to apply my learning within the workplace made it all possible. IC24 has been instrumental in helping me achieve this milestone.”
Mark’s Data Science Apprenticeship was not just about academic achievement—it also brought tangible benefits to IC24.
In his final year, Mark developed an impressive portfolio of work based on real-world challenges within the organisation. His standout project, created in collaboration with the Quality and Governance (QG) team, utilised machine learning to streamline the process of classifying and analysing patient experience questionnaires.
This work has the potential to not only save valuable time for the QG team but also enhance the patient experience by providing data-driven insights that can inform service changes.
David Brown, IC24’s Chief Information Officer, said:
"Mark's success and dedication strengthens our data science and capacity and expertise within our Business Intelligence and Analytics team. His work will enable IC24 group to increase its ability to analyse our data through machine learning tools, enabling us to start identifying patterns and insights within our clinical and corporate data to provide the best patient experience."
