As part of plans to improve urgent care in west Kent, we are working with West Kent CCG who are making changes to the out of-hours GP-led service, which offers care when practices are closed.
Appointments with the out-of-hours service are accessed by calling NHS 111.
The GP-led out of hours service offers face-to-face appointments with a clinician to people who need to access care urgently when their own practice is closed.
The two out-of-hours GP-led bases in Sevenoaks and Tonbridge were due to relocate to Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells hospitals from 1 June 2018.
However, due to a delay in the installation of IT equipment, the out-of-hours base at Tonbridge Cottage Hospital will now be relocated to Tunbridge Wells Hospital from 1 September 2018, once this has been resolved.
As planned, from 1 June 2018, appointments with the out-of-hours GP-led service are no longer available from Sevenoaks Community Hospital. Please note, there will continue to be a home visiting service across west Kent to help housebound people.
The advice remains, if people become ill or injure themselves when their practice is closed, they should call NHS 111. If they need to be seen urgently, they will be given an appointment with a GP or nurse at either Tonbridge Cottage Hospital or Maidstone Hospital or, if required, be visited at home.
